The auditorium complex was built between 15 - 17th century and represented the place where the regnants who lived here ruled the Romanian Country, the conception center of the indepence battle and a focus point for culture and civilization. Representative for the romanian architecture and art, the monuments of the Royal Court contain innovative elements and solutions which strongly influenced the age. The museum organizers tried to build up an organic link between the monuments and the expositional activity. The exposition "Vlad the Impaler-Dracula. Legend and historical truth" was organized in the Chindia Tower and "the Collection of art in Brancoveanu style" was installed in the Royal Church. In the cellars of the Petru Cercel's Royal House lies an interesting lapidarium collection and a short history of the Royal Court. Although the main monuments existing here date from the period after Mircea cel Batran, the archaeological excavations brought out an interesting fortification and the house of the "parcalab" (a high ranking person in the Royal Court) and other vestiges dating from the second half of the 14th century, prior to the reign of Mircea cel Batran, little represented now inside the museal complex.

Along the Royal Court, the visitor will distinguish many interess areas, among them we can mention the residential area, the military fortification area, the royal cliros area, the household area, the royal gardens.
