The painter deciphered the mistery of the matter doing landscapes, because he had direct contact with nature, with the environment. In Petrascu's paintings (“House from Nicoresti”, “Princely Chapel”, “Market in Assuan”, “Houses in Vitre”) we catch his ability to render the local climate through the fidelity for the motive.
Landcapes did before 1915-1917 are often darker, but the dark shades grant the distinction of some subtle, gray harmonies.
The painter used white and black as independent colors since 1900. These colours integrate in the painting's chromatic composition, being the ruling colours. After 1921 the painter lightened his palette, without changing the component elements.
